Hi,
I am experiencing some kind of error here, not sure whether this is something to do with setting, which I accidentally discovered that login user A (role:subscriber) is able to edit user B's or other user comments, this is odd and shouldn't have occurred commonly. Any idea on how to resolve this? 🙁
Thanks & Regards
Hi chuan123,
This can only happens if your WordPress database has been migrated from other database and the user roles are incorrect inserted in wp_usermeta table.
Please send admin login details to support[at]gvectors.com email address. We'll create two users and test it.
Hi, Support Team
I've sent you the details to the given email add. as per request, thanks again!! 🙂
Hi chuan123,
We just tested and didn't find such an issue. All works fine. However we found some unusual process on your website, it hides/show "edit" buttons once page is loaded. it seems you've added a custom JS function or it comes from other parts. We don't see the issue you're talking about.
Hello - I'm having this same problem -- all my "authors" are able to edit each others' comments. They were imported from an old database. Can't this be fixed?
Hi Charles,
Only Admins and Editors are able to edit others' comments. Simple users can only edit their comments. I think your website user roles have been migrated incorrectly. Please make sure the user you're logged in is not Admin or Editor then test it. Authors should not be able to edit other users comments. You can test it on a fresh WP/wpDiscuz installation and see it.
No, this is definitely an "author" that is able to edit others' comments.
Then this is an incorrect author. Something is wrong with this user. Please register a new User with author role and test it again. If it still doesn't work then deactivate other plugins and test it again.
