I've enabled and configured social login on my site for Facebook and it works brilliantly! The only problem is that if someone clicks the "please login to comment" link instead of the "login using [social media]" then they are redirected to my default Wordpress login page.
What I'd like to have is the wpDiscuz social login option prominently featured on both the default login page as well as the registration page.
Is this possible with wpDiscuz? Or should I seek out a different social login plugin to use with wpDiscuz?
I've been searching these forums and the wpDiscuz documentation but haven't found my specific question asked. Sorry if it was and I just didn't see it!
if you find tell me too
Unfortunately, I still don't have a solution to this. I've experimented with using Ultimate Member to override the registration form process, and I think I may have to just not use wpDiscuz, as Ultimate Member does sell a social login plugin.
Kind of a bummer, as I really like the dynamic commenting function wpDiscuz offers! I'm also leaning toward installing wpForo and it would have been nice to just use both of those plugins instead of having to even mess around with Ultimate Member.
Unless someone from gvectors might have a possible solution for us, regarding my original post in this thread?
Hi @hurtdidit,
I'm really sorry, but there is no way to reach this using wpDiacuz and there is not an easy solution which I can post here.
Thank you, @astghik for getting back to me.
I was able to install a different social login plugin and still use wpDiscuz (and wpForo) and it works really well.
I've sent two messages regarding the wpDiscuz comment importing service though, with no response (one was sent a couple days ago, the other was sent about a month ago). Is there any chance this got lost in your spam folder or something? 🙂

I want to clarify how it works at wpDiscuz - does your plugin creates a social logged-in users standalone table??
No, all information is stored in wp_users and wp_usermeta tables.
or why it cannot be used for a whole site login?
Don't follow you well. The plugin is not designed to work in that way. Once you've logged in via social login feature, you're able to use the whole site. Probably there is some other plugin that caused the issue.
OK, I see.
Is it possible at wpDiscuz for unregistered (not logged-in) users:
1) for unregistered (not logged-in) users - to show at wpDiscuz comments form message like "To write comment please register/login" (with direct URLs based on WP defaults).
2) for unregistered (not logged-in) users or even by users role (for example for all new users with Subscriber role) - to hide all other users personal information: name, avatar, profile link, etc.
@gnv,
Please navigate to Dashboard > Comments > Settings > Comment form admin page, make sure the Hide Please login to comment text option is disabled in the Comment Form components section. Please see the screenshot below:
1) for unregistered (not logged-in) users - to show at wpDiscuz comments form message like "To write comment please register/login" (with direct URLs based on WP defaults).
The "Please Login to comment" phrase can be found and changed from the Dashboard > Comments > Phrases > Notification admin page.
2) for unregistered (not logged-in) users or even by users role (for example for all new users with Subscriber role) - to hide all other users personal information: name, avatar, profile link, etc.
I'm really sorry, but the wpDiscuz doesn't have such feature. This requires a code customization. You should contact us via sales[at]gvectors.com email address and provide a list of custom features you'd like to add.
Will be better if this phrase will have 2 options:
"For commenting please login or register." - with 2 URLs for login and registering!

Too much obvious functions are absent. I suggest to your team not be lazy and better listen what users needs... this suggested by me option can be a very popular... but you will ask $200 for so small function?! It's a shame!
Just make it as a "wpDiscuz Pro Security addon" and you will earn many $1000 for my suggestions.
