Whenever i enter a value the captcha field it is getting validated in every case i.e irrespective of the text entered i.e upper case or lower case

Hi apdeveloper,
As far as I see you mean CAPTCHA not reCAPTCHA, am I rights?
This issue may caused by other CAPTCHA plugins, if you have other plugin please go to that plugin settings page and disable it for comment form.
