The menu item Members should only be visible to the admin (a group of users) .. is that feasible .. I will probably use the bundle

If you don’t want to show members to guests or to other Usergroups, you should edit the Usergroup in Dashboard > Forums > Usergroup admin page and uncheck/disable the first or both CAN‘s (permissions):
