my topic replies are not indenting making it difficult to see the thread. where is the setting to have this indented?
Hi Joon, I'm just a user like yourself but if you go into
forum/settings on the left dashboard menu of WP
and then select the style tab from the page menu, you'll be able to see what colours your site is using and change them accordingly.
Each numbered line refers to a different color in a different area of your forum.
Here's the link to the key for the section numbers;_
Hope this helps
h**l marc thank you for trying to help me, but what I was asking was is there way to indent the topics as they would in the comments. for instance.
we have post #1 and post #2 replying to the the topic (which is same as post #1). and someone comes and replies to post #1, which now will be post #3. shouldn't it be indented and be under #1 and not below #2 and in the same vertical aligment?
Ahhhh, I see what you mean Joon, sorry, I thought you was referring to the background color of the comments box acting as an indent.
Sorry, my misunderstanding but I do agree that using an indent to nest the comments would make for better readability.
Hi Joon,
there are a few specific forum types called Threaded Forums which support indent posts in topics. But 99% forum softwares don't have this. The idea of "forum" doesn't include this, this is the one of main difference between Blog comments and Forum topic posts. Currently wpForo has three layouts (Extended, Simplified and Q&A), we're planning to add a new Threaded Layout in near future releases so you'll be able to display posts with indents. Currently I have no ETA.
I would love to see threaded replies become an option. I believe this has become more standard and expected in discussions.
Thanks!
The threaded replies will be available with Threaded Forum Layout. Current layouts will not have threaded lists of posts. The Threaded Layout is currently under development. We'll add it soon.
Hey, @Tom just curious is the threaded layout available yet. If not do you have a possible ETA? We could really use this for a current project.
