Hi! When an user reply to a topic, the subject line add an automatic text "reply: topic_title". It is fine in English but in Italian it happens as RISPONDI and I would edit it to make it shorter like "RE:" which is universal. I didn't find it in phrases. I should add a new phrase "Rispondi:" because without : it doesn't work.

RISPONDI

Please find that phrase in Dashboard > Forums > Phrases admin page, edit that phrase and change to RE.

As I've said can't find it there. What is the original English string? RE: as I see here?

Hi @ikir,

you just need to search RE letters. When you enter the "RE" it will be found many words that includes this letters. Please don't forget to check on other pages as well.

It wasn't there, I checked 2 times before posting. Checked again after you reply. I've created the string myself with both RE and RE: but even after deleting cache it still says "RISPONDI:" which is BTW not quite correct for this kind of thing. RE or RISPOSTA vuol be much better in Italian.

Hi @ikir.

As you set your WordPress language not English (in your case it's Italian) you automatically use the .po/.mo translation.  When you change the RE in phrase system it starts to search in .po/.mo files and find the "Rispondi"  so it shows this word (it is already registered as "Rispondi" in file system by other users). If you change it to any other phrase e.g. RI it will show RI, as there is no any "RI" phrase in  .po/.mo files.  I suggest you use Loco translate plugin. Install this plugin and translate RE to the phrase you'd prefer. After this, you can deactivate the Loco translate plugin.

However, we recommend translating all phrases using this plugin.

RE
