Not sure about your question, but wanted to mention that wpForo 2.x version has option to add thumbnail for the Forum Category.

You can do that from Dashboard > wpForo > Forums, edit the needed Category and check Category Cover Image field.

im talking about making it available to see a thumbnails of the picture to show what's in the post or topic without opening

This is not planned yet. However, it's in our to-do list and will be available in a few months.

a year ago you guys told me it will be out in the new 2.0 wpforo update and now you saying it not planned yet.

Yes, the priority of new features is based on the number of requests. At the moment, we've got dozens of new feature requests with higher priority. So this feature has been moved down. The decision makers are the users, not we. I can add a few points of priority to this feature and try to add this feature in upcoming 1-2 months. This is all what we can do for you.

@kylew unfortunately not. They still haven't given any fixed date but yes they are planning. I can understand their busy schedule. But for the forum category, you can add a thumbnail by going into wpforo, then into forums. There you will have the option to make changes and set cover image for the category.
