We have the private messages add-on installed and activated but we have not yet entered our license key because the installation is on a staging site (we plan to enter the key after going live on the production server). However, although private messaging appears to be working, we can't access any kind of settings/options screen for the add-on via the dashboard. Is there such a screen? If we navigate to Forums -> Add-ons then private message shows as installed but the only link to click on takes us to this (i.e. gvectors) website, not to a configuration screen.

Please navigate to the Dashboard > Forums > Settings > Addons > Private Messages tab to see the add-on settings. See the screenshot below:
