The rest of the wpForo date formats work fine when set to adapt the native Wordpress format, but for some reason, this doesn't work in private messages. The message timestamps show what we call 'military' time (24-hour format) rather than a 12-hour time format with am/pm. No one in the US uses this format so how can I change it?

Hi,

You should set the "Enable WordPress Date/Time Format" option to "Yes." This option is located in Dashboard > wpForo > Settings > General Settings.

For more details, visit:  https://wpforo.com/docs/wpforo-v2/settings/general-settings/#enable-wordpress-date-time-format

@astgh I have always had it set to do so, but it doesn't correct the format on private messages to what is set in Wordpress. It works everywhere else in wpForo forums but the time set in private messages is based on a 24 hour clock. (instead of saying 5:24pm, it says 17:24).

I've contacted the developers, and they confirmed that the Private Messages addon does not use either wpForo or WordPress formatting. It has its own date formatting.

I'm sorry, but currently, there is no way to use the WordPress date format in the PM addon, as it would require significant changes to the plugin's code.

@astgh Thanks. Could you be so kind and put in a request for that? It's a pretty universal format and since wpDiscuz and wpForo both have the option (I use both), it seems only reasonable to expect it on a paid addon.

I'll ask the developers to add the feature if it's possible.
