I've been looking for ways to set the badges based on the number of points. But it seems there is no way to add it.
I saw this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/mycred-badge-plus/
Do I need that additional plugin so that I could set the badges based on the number of points the user earned?

That's okay. I found an alternative. FYI for all forum members you can use Rank and set a logo. Rank is based on points
