This was asked but never answered last June so I guess it's a common question.
I know it's a CSS code test add in settings but not that good with HTML.
This would default the emoticon's expanded instead of having to click on the lower right corner smile to expand.

We're really sorry, but there is no way to do it. Even if you find the way to make it shown by default, it'll have an effect on your forum speed. We don't recommend to do it.
