Hi guys

We need a method to disable the embed behaviour. A quick win would be to use CODE, but as you can see from the screenshot (below) that doesn't work as expected (probable bug?).

This adddon works great for new topics with 1 or 2 news links or youtube videos, but if we write a reply with several links, the whole post becomes way too large and unreadable, with the expanded embed behaviour.

Could you fix the CODE behaviour, or give a new tool to over-ride a link on a case-by-case basis (I don't want to disable my add-on!)

Thanks, and keep up the great work. 👍

Hi @nutritionchat,

There are three options, you can disable one by one and find the best configuration for you:

  • Embed Website URLs
  • oEmbed Functions
  • oEmbed current domain content

The options are located in wpForo > Settinfs > Addon Settings > Embeds admin page.

Hi @tomson, and thanks for your reply.

Yes, I am aware of those embed options, but ideally we could set this on a post-by-post basis as we write our topics/replies, and not globally enforced (as per my use-case, described above). A button in the mce tool bar would be perfect, or we could add tags (via source code option). But if this is a big ask, then I understand that we can't expect miracles for $10!

However, the code problem is a bug for sure - when we paste text into the code box, it should behave exactly like it would in notepad. So obviously, links should never embedded in this case, and should always display as plain text.

@nutritionchat,

I'm sorry, but I have no other suggestion at the moment. I can add a new task in our to-do list to add some way to embed URLs on a post-by-post basis. But this will not be available soon. I cannot provide any ETA.
