i would like to hide these buttons but not with CSS is there anyway to disable them?

There is currently no option to disable user media and retain only the 'Attach' button. The only way to achieve this is by using CSS to set 'display: none.'
We have submitted this suggestion for consideration, and it may be included as a new option in future releases of 'Advanced Attachments.'
