We'd like to only offer user commenting for particular user roles, is this possible?

Hi @matt-lecount,
Please navigate to the Dashboard > Comments > wpDiscuz > Forms admin page, edit the form you use, and check the " Disable commenting for roles" option.

Hi, this is related to the user commenting functionality of the paid add on, rather than all commenting, where users can use @user etc. It's just this functionality of the add on which we wish to restrict to a particular user role. Is it possible?

The restriction of commenting by user role is a core wpDiscuz plugin function, and it's controlled in the forum edit page. Please read the documentation: https://wpdiscuz.com/docs/wpdiscuz-7/getting-started/manage-comment-forms/comment-form-settings/#disable_commenting_for_roles
