Hello everyone,

I am having a problem with this add on.

I can correctly tag an user like @Pinky. This works fine.

I can also correctly tag an user like @PinkyElephant, with to words. This works fine too.

But I can't tag an user which has a nickname like @Pinky Elephant, with a space between words.

The plugin doesn't recognize it.

How do I solve this problem?

Best regards,

Michel

Also, before a mod looks at this,

I have already tried the first possible solution to this, which would be to use the "user search" button in the comment form.

That solution has 2 major problems:

- It is quite intricate for an average user to stop writing the comment to click on a button and then search for an username on a separate box. Feasible of course, but it goes against the habit that people have on facebook where you just need to write down the @ to tag someone. Especially because the simpler function perfectly works for nicknames with a single word.

- It is terribly ugly and looks unprofessional. When you search an username, the nickname will appear right next to a giant "FALSE" flag, which I have no idea why it appears there, and gives a terrible feedback to the user. I am attaching a pic to show you what happens.

For this reasons, the "use the user-search button" wouldn't do any good...

There is no nickname with space, it's not allowed in WordPress and there-is no way to tag username with space. They are Display Names not nicknames, they have different nicknames and the nicknames don't have spaces for sure. So you try to tag people using Display Names, that's incorrect, you should search in user search box and find people with correct nicknames.

As per search form, I hope you've seen the screenshots of this addon and you should know that the FALSE is not part of this addon, it seems something works wrongly on your end. This addon should look like this:

wpDiscuz User and Comment Mentioning comment list

Also I'd recommend enable user avatars for this addon in settings:

Please send admin login details to support[at]gvectors.com to allow us check and find the problem.

We just released wpDiscuz User & Comment Mentioning addon v1.1.2 version, please delete the one in your website, then login to your account and download the latest version. Here is the changelog:

  • Added: Compatible with Ultimate Member (Username, Profile URL…).
  • Added: Shows Display Name instead of user login.
  • Added: Option to change User Tagging Logic. UserID instead of Username.
  • Fixed Bug: FALSE output before username on user search result.
  • Fixed Bug: Comment link problem. Tooltip doesn’t work.
