This question really applies to any of the add-ons such as embeds, polls, private messages, advanced attachments, topic prefix, custom fields, user mentioning etc: Is there a way to restrict access to these by usergroup? Id like some of these features to only be available to paid members or admins that are in different usergroups than the default one. If I allow these features to all forum members, Im afraid they will abuse them or use them for the wrong purpose.
Perfect example: the topic prefixes would be a great tool for authors and admins to announce breaking news or for sponsors to announce new products, but I wouldn't want this feature offered when posting a new topic for regular users. They would end up starting every thread with a "breaking news" topic prefix so their post would get read more. Same with things like embeds and attachments -- for my free members I want to turn some of these features off, while allowing more trusted paid members to embed and attach things without the threat of someone posting porn. For custom fields, Id like to limit these to usergroups such as authors so they can create specialized game summary posts that are better formatted to display relevant game information and stats.
In WPForo Accesses when looking at the usergroups, I can see access settings for polls, attachments, and voice posts – which Im presuming refers to the various Add-on plugins I have. I don't see my other Add-Ons in this space however....only these. But is there a way to control access to the features of the other Add-ons in similar fashion? Or, if not, is there another way to achieve the same end-game (i.e. workaround?).
Id love to be able to just checkbox the appropriate privilege for each usergroup like we already can for posts, replies, starting topics, deleting own threads, starting polls, etc.
Thanks.
