Hi,

I would like to know if its possible to use the WordPress default comment form and functionality on blog posts only? We have wpdiscuz working how we want it on the product page but all the changes made to suit that are making it almost impossible to create a normal commenting section for our blog posts.

Please let me know

Thanks!

Hi dannyn,

you need to navigate to Dashboard > Comments > Forms admin page, edit the Default Form uncheck "post" type from "Display comment form for post types" option.

However, I suggest you create another comment form special for post type with the necessary fields.

More info here:  https://wpdiscuz.com/docs/wpdiscuz-documentation/getting-started/custom-comment-form/

So, you’ll have 2 forms as shown in the screenshot:

So, I initially had none defined here for a "post" type but then no form was showing at all. Prior to asking the question here I tried adding a basic form for just posts but due to the changes we made for the product page form (form opening as a popup essentially) this just doesn't work well for our blog pages.

what happens as is is basically at the bottom of a blog post page there is just a headline "Leave a Reply" and then rest of the comment form is in a hidden popup ready to be activated as per the mechanism we use for the product pages... while we want just a normal commenting section like wp has by default for our blog post pages...
