When I try to test the comments on a post, the comment disappears and the section where the comment should be redirects to the home page.  There are also no comments on the dashboard either.

You can delete this, I didn't realize Jetpack "Allow comments from Gmail, Facebook, Etc was activated, everything seems to work fine.

Thank you for letting us know. Glad to hear that the issue is solved. 

Yes, in most cases the reason for such issues is the Jetpack Comments plugin. Please note, you can't use two different comment systems together.
