Hi, when there are comments with many nested replies, at some point you hit the wordpress limit of maximum number of nested levels and all future replies are displayed on the same level. That makes it hard to see who is replying to whom. Is there a way to show the relation between replies so that it's clear what the comment is in reply to?

For example, there could be an anchor link to the "parent" comment, or the name of the user who is being replied to could be displayed somewhere, or there could be an option to automatically include the original comment author's name so that it's clear who the new comment is replying to (like, if Sarah replies to Carlos, Sarah's comment would automatically begin with "Carlos:" or something like that.

I can't seem to find a way to do this with a plugin. I was only able to find this code but I don't even know if it works or how to use it.

Have you considered adding a function like this? Or does anyone know of some addtional plugins or addons that add this functionality?

I'd also really to have this kind of functionality. When comments get past about 3 levels deep it can become a real mess.

Hi mdw,

Thank you for this suggestion we'll take it into consideration for future releases.

+1

And please don’t forget to implement the new functionality synchronization with mirrored wpDiscuz into Crossposting plugin. It is great to have new functionalities however we are not anymore in the nineties, where Crossposting’s aptitude of mirroring only text and images would be enough.

May I remember you are the editor of both wpDiscuz and wpForo and their smileys are still incompatible via Crossposting ?
