Hello, I purchased the private text messaging plugin, but the key isn't working. I'm getting the error: "Something went wrong: cURL error 28: Connection timed out after 10002 milliseconds." Could you help me?

Critical Error in Private Messages After Deleting a User

Hi,

we’ve encountered a reproducible issue in the Private Messages addon:

An admin exchanged private messages with a user. After this user was deleted, the Private Messages section started showing a critical error:

“There has been a critical error on your website.”

Once this happens, the affected user (admin or moderator) cannot open or send any private messages anymore. The entire PM system becomes inaccessible.

Temporary workaround:
We were able to fix it by sending a new private message to the affected staff member. Using the notification bell, they could jump directly into the new message and exit the broken chat with the deleted user. After that, the PM system worked again.

Hi,

We've been using WPForo for several years now and have implemented the Private Message function which for the most part works ok.

However I see private messages notifications into my email even though I am not part of that conversation? I know other users have had the same experience.

I've just upgraded to latest Wordpress (V6.8.1), Wpforo (V2.4.5) and Private Message Addon (V3.2.1) hoping it was a bug but it has occurred again?

Hi,

Is there any way to stop the DM popup link from appearing? It's kind of annoying and also slows down the page load. I would much rather prefer if there was just an icon in the forum menu or something indicating that you have receive a DM.

Date/time format won't display correctly

The rest of the wpForo date formats work fine when set to adapt the native Wordpress format, but for some reason, this doesn't work in private messages. The message timestamps show what we call 'military' time (24-hour format) rather than a 12-hour time format with am/pm. No one in the US uses this format so how can I change it?

I have two roles on the "councillor" and "secretary" website and forum. The task is to implement the possibility of private messages in such a way that users with the "council member" role cannot initiate chats and cannot write to each other, but at the same time they can see private messages from users with the "secretary" role and respond to them. Removing the checkbox from the "Can write PM" setting for users with the "council member" role leads to the fact that "council members" cannot really exchange messages among themselves, but they do not see private messages if they were written by a user with the "secretary" role. Is it somehow possible to configure? Thank you!

In the process of activating the plugin, we see the message: "Please do not activate this plugin if you are on local host (127.0.0.1) or you use IP address to access to WordPress website.
This plugin should only be activated if WordPress is located in WEB under a real domain name.
If you have an issue with plugin activation please contact us via support@gvectors.com email address.
Please do not forget to send order number and activation key." Can we activate the plugin on a test site with a real domain, test the functions we are interested in, then deactivate the plugin, transfer the site to another domain and reactivate the plugin there?

Massive performance issues because of private messages.

We use the private message addon. Since some weeks we notice increasing performance issues when opening the private messages. Also it seems that users with a lot of PN`s have longer loading times inside the forum. Today a user with over 350 PN`s reported 404 errors when trying to open his pn folder. We did some research and i can say that a user without pn`s have loading times of arround 1sec, users with a lot of pn`s between 5-10sec. BTW our hosting is a premium wordpress hosting with 6cpu and 6gb ram.
