Ok if that is the case then it may be a good idea to add a tool to import existing images that have been added to forums to include them in media, For people who are already using the plugin but will not have the option of adding to media when upload.

I'm sorry but we don't have plans for this yet. We'll take this under consideration.

As soon as this is updated and added to the advanced attachments we can start using WPFORO on our site. Following the migration from bbpress of course. ;)

Sounds great and thank you! Has there been any progress?

WordPress Media Lib is very heavy for forum attachments. It saves lots of data in wp_posts and wp_postmeta table for each file, also it generates many copies of uploaded image with different sizes, which is not needed for forum. We decided to create separate Attachment Management system with admin page. This will keep forum attachments intact and it'll not make WP system heavy.

Currently we work on this and hope to add it by end of this month.

Any update or word on this? We're ready and eager to move to new forums but we cannot until this is an option.

Thanks!

Thanks, we'll wait for the update before migrating to the new forums as getting images into media is crucial. We run a large forums and people are constantly uploading images. Due to this if we migrated to wpforo now people would upload their images and then the attachment addon will get updated in the future which would leave all uploaded images prior to update not included in the media.

We'll be looking for the update!

Thanks!
