Formatting stripped on save since Advanced Attachments install

Since installing wpForo Advanced Attachments, formatting is stripped when saving a forum reply/post — the editor toolbar itself displays fine, the problem happens specifically on save. It fixed a separate inline-images issue but caused this new one.

Browser console shows this error in the reply/editor section: Permissions policy violation: unload is not allowed in this document.

Hello,

I have a question regarding attachment permissions in wpForo.

As an Administrator, I can see the "Delete" button for uploaded attachments in the post editor/media manager and I can remove files before or after posting.

However, regular forum users can upload files and insert them into posts, but they do not see any option to delete their own uploaded attachments.

Is there a setting, user group permission, or forum access permission that allows users to delete their own attachments/files?

If so, could you please tell me where this option can be enabled?

I am using WordPress with wpForo and would like users to be able to manage and remove their own uploaded files without requiring administrator intervention.

Compatibility question: How to sync wpForo Advanced Attachments with WordPress Media Library (for WP Offload Media / S3)

Hello wpForo Support Team,

I am currently using wpForo alongside the wpForo Advanced Attachments addon. For cloud storage delivery, I use the WP Offload Media plugin connected to Amazon S3 and Cloudflare.

In the core wpForo settings, I have enabled the option "Insert Forum Attachments to Media Library". However, because I am using the Advanced Attachments addon, the files skip the standard WordPress Media Library upload hooks and go directly into the custom /wp-content/uploads/wpforo/ folder structure. As a result, WP Offload Media cannot detect the files to offload them to S3.

Could you please guide me on the correct action hook or filter to use specifically for the Advanced Attachments addon? I want to create a custom function that programmatically registers the files into the WordPress Media Library (wp_insert_attachment) the moment they are successfully attached to a post/topic, so that third-party offloading plugins can intercept them.

Any code snippets or specific hook recommendations (e.g., an AJAX-safe upload hook tailored to the addon) would be greatly appreciated.

Hello.

I am using Advanced attachment plugin and i have a problem as below. (this forum category and forums are for audiences and customers who do not need to login to see the contents)

- When users log into the forum the attached pictures are shown in the content (attachment 1)

- when users do not log in the attached pictures are shows as attachment (attachment 2)

I need to solve this problem for audiences to be able to see pictures in the contents who do not log in.

Can you advise me how to solve this problem?

Still can't activate Advanced Attachments

I've written in the past, however there seems to be some confusion on your part.

When I downloaded Advanced Attachments, I did so as a guest (no registration). Later when I downloaded Private Messages, I did register for an account, therefore Private Messages is listed as an official purchase but not Advanced Attachments. Somehow this is creating a problem, because I cannot update the AddOn (see attachments).

I asked for the Activation Key for Advanced Attachments, but kept getting sent the one for Private Messages. I already have that one. How can we resolve this?

Advanced Attachments Shortcode

I posted about Advanced Attachments being a lock-in plugin before. Meaning, you have to keep it activated to retain any previous functionality. The response was that this is because it uses shortcodes to insert the images inline with the post content. For this reason, I have not used the plugin after paying for it and kept using upload form that comes stock with wpForo (limited to one image, displayed at the bottom of the post content).

Instead of inserting shortcode for uploaded images, which completely disappears when the plugin is deactivated for any reason, why can't you just insert the image URL? I want the URL to be there whether the AA plugin is activated or not, then it won't feel so locked-in. This option is actually better because it works well with your wpEmbeds plugin that can display the image from the URL.

If you're not willing to consider this method of displaying AA uploaded images, can you please share how to either:

Disable reliance on the shortcode or provide a function that can display previously uploaded images even when the AA plugin is disabled?

(The concept of AA plugin is great, but the stock upload and AA plugin are two extremes. Just a simple method to upload more than one image without a My Media gallery and all of the other bells and whistles would be even better for some of us. I would happily pay for a less "advanced" attachments plugin!)
