Still can't activate Advanced Attachments

I've written in the past, however there seems to be some confusion on your part.

When I downloaded Advanced Attachments, I did so as a guest (no registration). Later when I downloaded Private Messages, I did register for an account, therefore Private Messages is listed as an official purchase but not Advanced Attachments. Somehow this is creating a problem, because I cannot update the AddOn (see attachments).

I asked for the Activation Key for Advanced Attachments, but kept getting sent the one for Private Messages. I already have that one. How can we resolve this?

Advanced Attachments Shortcode

I posted about Advanced Attachments being a lock-in plugin before. Meaning, you have to keep it activated to retain any previous functionality. The response was that this is because it uses shortcodes to insert the images inline with the post content. For this reason, I have not used the plugin after paying for it and kept using upload form that comes stock with wpForo (limited to one image, displayed at the bottom of the post content).

Instead of inserting shortcode for uploaded images, which completely disappears when the plugin is deactivated for any reason, why can't you just insert the image URL? I want the URL to be there whether the AA plugin is activated or not, then it won't feel so locked-in. This option is actually better because it works well with your wpEmbeds plugin that can display the image from the URL.

If you're not willing to consider this method of displaying AA uploaded images, can you please share how to either:

Disable reliance on the shortcode or provide a function that can display previously uploaded images even when the AA plugin is disabled?

(The concept of AA plugin is great, but the stock upload and AA plugin are two extremes. Just a simple method to upload more than one image without a My Media gallery and all of the other bells and whistles would be even better for some of us. I would happily pay for a less "advanced" attachments plugin!)

Why would wpForo Attachments suddenly disappear - all 4,800 of them?!

Feature Question – Adding Multiple Photos to Member Profiles

Hello gVectors Team,

I’m using the wpForo User Custom Fields (UCF) addon on my website, and I’d like to know if there’s currently a way (or an addon) that allows members to upload and display multiple photos in their profile — essentially a small personal gallery.

Right now, members can only have a single profile picture. I’d like them to be able to upload several images (for example, showcasing activities or events) that would appear in a “Photos” or “Gallery” section within their profile.

Could you please confirm if the UCF addon or any other wpForo addon supports this feature, or if there’s a recommended way to achieve it (e.g., with custom fields or a compatible plugin)?

Hide mini thumbnails in the lightbox

Hello,

I'm using WPForo with the 'Advanced Attachments' and 'Embeds' add-ons.
After uploading some images, I noticed that numerous mini-thumbnails were displayed at the bottom of the lightbox. These are useless and detract from the visual appearance.

Unfortunately, I can't find an option to disable them in the settings.

Does anyone have any idea how to permanently hide these thumbnails?

Feature Request: Directories to Organize Attachments

Good morning,

my users are asking regularly for the possibility to organize their uploaded attachments into directories. The list of uploads is getting longer and longer for everyone and therefore harder to navigate and more and more confusing.

I would be happy if this feature were added in the near future.

I'm working more and more with wpforo and as I am also attaching many files to my topics a nice to have feature would be to show the file size of the attachment.

Maybe there is already such an option but I couldn't see it yet - I think this would be a nice to have feature for the Advanced Attachments Plugin :)

Not working with bigger files - Unknown Error

I just bought this addon to have the possibility to attach multiple files to my forum entries.

Unfortunately it doesn't work:

When using attach files I see in the top right of the page a spinning icon which disappears after some seconds.

When Using My Media I see he starts uploading till about 30 MB and than stops in Error Unknown error

In my PHP and Apache error logs I see nothing - the upload limit in PHP and the Forum is set to 16GB so that shouldn't be a problem neither

I tried a dmg and an exe files with about 270MB and those don't work

Tested with smaller than 30MB and those work - so somewhere seems to be a problem with maybe a timeout or so but as I have nothing in my logs?
