It’s resolved you can close it this case! I reported everything to WBCOM, and they fixed the issue in the addon.

I would still have appreciated getting a response from the support team here. I’m planning to use wpForo as my main forum platform. I’ve already purchased two plugins and was planning to purchase more in the future.

However, at the moment I’m quite concerned about what would happen if I ran into another problem and needed support, especially after not receiving any response from the support team in my current case.

I hope you can understand my concerns.

wpForo - Blog Cross Posting - 3.1.6

Error/Warning:

PHP Warning: Attempt to read property "ID" on null in /nas/content/live/oursite/wp-content/plugins/wpforo-cross-posting/wpForoCrossPosting.php on line 893

I don't want to create a patch to handle the warning, but it is filling up the logs, and I'd like to get it cleared up.

Root cause: wpForoCrossPosting::postContent() is hooked to the_content at priority 9999 and does global $post; $postID = $post->ID; with no null check. the_content fires in some contexts without a populated $post global (REST rendering, admin-ajax, certain widget/feed paths), so it throws.

Please take a look at the image. In the first and second comments, #2345721 has no spaces or HTML tags around it. However, in the third comment, the numbers and the # sign are wrapped in a tag.

Because of this difference in the HTML structure, the parsing does not work the same way in both cases.
