Hello... I bought, installed and activated media uploader addon, but none of the icons are showing up. I saw that someone else had the same issue, and in their case it was a conflict with Jetpack. I do not have jetpack installed.... any other known issues?

thank you for your purchase. Could you please leave website URL to allow us check it. Also make sure you use the latest wpDiscuz version. Current version is 4.0.2. And please delete all cache after plugin installation.

The plugin works well, just the new media uploader does not show. I have cleared the cache.
Another issue: Someone complained that they wrote a long comment, THEN clicked on the facebook sign-in button and when the page refreshed, the comment was gone, so they had to re-write it. Is there a way around this, or is that an issue with the social login plugin?

Have you deleted the cache, please delete it again?
Also please make sure these options are enabled in Comments > Settings > Addons > Media Uploader admin page:

I see the problem. The button colors are similar to form background color. Please change background color to darker or leave it withe to allow buttons appear. Buttons are already there:
